Solfeggio Frequency Guide

Ancient tones for the modern mind.
Discover what each frequency does and how brainwave pairing deepens the experience.

The Solfeggio scale dates back to early sacred music traditions. Each tone resonates at a specific vibration believed to influence the body, mind, and emotional state in different ways.

When combined with brainwave frequencies Alpha, Theta, Delta these tones become more than sound. They become an experience.

What are Solfeggio frequencies?

Solfeggio frequencies are a set of tones drawn from early sacred music traditions, each traditionally associated with a particular quality such as grounding, release or connection. This guide covers ten tones: the nine Solfeggio frequencies (174, 285, 396, 417, 528, 639, 741, 852 and 963 Hz) plus 432 Hz, an alternative concert tuning that is commonly grouped with them. They are used as a way to choose what to listen to, not as a medical treatment.

How are Solfeggio frequencies paired with brainwaves?

Each meditation layers a Solfeggio tone over a brainwave frequency in the delta (0.5–4 Hz), theta (4–8 Hz) or alpha (8–13 Hz) range. The Solfeggio tone sets the character of the sound; the brainwave layer sets the pace. For example, 174 Hz is paired with delta at 2 Hz for winding down, while 528 Hz is paired with alpha at 10 Hz for calm, alert attention.

Which frequency should I start with?

If you are new to this, start with 528 Hz — it is the most widely known tone and the easiest to sit with. If your goal is sleep, start with 174 Hz paired with delta; if your goal is focus during creative work, start with 741 Hz. There is no required order, and the pairings below are suggestions rather than prescriptions.

174Hz — What is the foundation frequency?

Foundation & Security
Grounding · physical ease · steadiness

The lowest tone in the Solfeggio set. It is traditionally associated with grounding and a sense of physical ease, and many listeners reach for it when they want to feel settled in the body rather than in the head. In our sessions it works as a sonic foundation — a low, steady floor to return to.

285Hz — What is the restoration frequency?

Restoration & Renewal
Restoration · renewal · slow recovery

In the Solfeggio tradition this tone is associated with restoration and renewal. Practitioners describe it as a tone of returning to a natural baseline, and listeners often use it on slow days when the intention is rest rather than effort.

432Hz — What is the natural tuning frequency?

Cosmic Harmony
Alternative tuning · warmth · deep calm
